They are EXTREMELY hard to find in this area. I broke down and ordered a .22Mag and a Predator in .243 today. The waiting is going to be the worst part.

I'm adding to my caliber collection because...well, do I really need a reason?

5.56mm - .223
6mm - .243
6.5 - .264
7mm - .284
7.62 - .308

What scope recommendations do you all think would be adequate? Is this round really a 1K yd candidate?
 
I don't have any experience with it, but from the ballistics I would say it could handle most anything you see fit to mount on it. A 6.5-20 wouldn't be overkill.
 
I plan on putting something that goes in the 20-24 range on the top end on mine when it gets here. Although I've had a hankering to put a Nightforce SHV on something and the 6.5 Creedmoor American might be a good choice for that as well.

While I'm waiting for the creedmore to be instock I traded off a side by side 20 gauge today at one of the local gun stores and picked up an American in 223. I'm pretty excited about a factory bolt action 223 that comes with a 1 in 8 twist.
 
I think I will get my Wife one of those and rig it up so she can range shoot with me, she hunts with an old Mauser 6.5x55 & has taken alot of animals with it.
 
Im curious too, ive been thinking about a 243 or maybe the 22-250 with a 1:10 twist, Ruger did a smart thing making them have faster twist rates IMO..they can do double duty as a varminter & a LR plinker
 
I've been tossing around the idea of a American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor for a coyote-to-elk gun. Looking forward to your range report!
