Ruger American Predator

I was interested in this rifle in 6.5 Creddmoor. I'll be honest, lately I've been kind of a gun snob and haven't even considered a rifle in this price class (Axis, Rem 783, Rar, etc.), but after reading reviews I have to see what this is all about. Anybody shooting the Ruger American Predator?? I'd love to see groups and hear some reviews. Thanks

Can't say about the 6.5 but my 223 gives 3/4 " @100 with bulk ammo. My handloads are shrinking from 5/8 to 1/2". Think I'll stay there. Good enough for yotes and the cost of rifle.

On topic.... There is a guy on the 24 hr website that is casting a piece that extends the internal length of the mag on the .223 Americans. They have an 8 twist, but the mag is to short to allow you to reach the rifling. The fix allows you to load 75 gr a max's into the rifling.

Predator model.(green stock, threaded barrel) Using a burris fullfield 2 in 4-12. Walmart bulk green tip. Reloads are Winchester case, hornady 55 gr vmax, varget powder and CCI primer.

I work for a local gun shop. Ordered mine from Jerrys sport center. 223 are only ones Ruger has in production at this time. Other cals are listed in dealer catalogue but not available yet.

Looks likes the .223's are still available I should order one. But would have to sell my savage varmint?

I could possibly hook you up with my uncle (Extreme Custom Gunsmithing in Potwin,ks).

Actually there is one available in .243.

204 and 308 are also out.

The 6.5CM comes out next week according to the LGS. I'm on the list for one. My Ruger American in 7mm-08 shoots very well with Hornady Superformance ammo.
