So how do you explain this?
(So why do the Fed. 17 HMR 17 gr. Hornady V-Max shoot a MUCH larger group then the Win. Supreme 17 HMR 17 Gr.Hornady V-Max in all three of my 17 HMR's.) Copied and pasted from my post.
I shot all these brands, Hornady, CCI, Federal 17 Gr V-max and Winchester Supreme 17 Gr V-max to compare and find which shot best in my rifles.
Winchester Supreme 17 GR V-Max out shot the Federal 17 Gr V-Max and all others.
That is why I bought 3000 rounds of The Winchester Supreme 17 Gr V-Max ammo of the same lot# for Sage Rat killing.
So you say that they are all made by the same company. I can go along with that but not that they all use the Exact same components, exact same specs then why do not the Fed's and the Winchester's shoot the same with the same bullet (17 Gr V-Max)? Just does not compute in my pee brain.

CCI, Federal, Winchester, Remington and Hornady all loaded here at CCI in Lewiston, Idaho with a V-max bullet are identical, with the exception of tip color. Manufactured on the same equip, to the same ballistic specs, using the same components other than color of the tip of the bullets. Obviously the shellcase 'head stamp' and packaging would be different on the various products.

Different lots will shoot slightly different, but that's the end of the difference in the ammo. Unless your gun shoots red better than it shoots green, it doesn't matter unless you think it does. I buy whatever is cheapest that day, it all shoots little bitty groups.
When I shot lot of it hornady was usually cheaper. They changed their packaging at one time and switched to a slightly different shade of red tip with a new name (extreme if I remember right), exact same specs etc except they wanted $2 more box for it at the lgs. A little conversation later and I'm walking out the door with the 'new' ammo at the 'old' price. 0 adjustment to the glass as far as the round will shoot.
