What is the going rate on these? Found one for $400.00 with scope and sling and was wanting to know if that was decent price

JMO, usually when you buy a rifle w/scope, the scope is a POS anyway. Sounds like a decent deal. Buy the rifle, junk the scope.

Buy the rifle and shoot it. If the scope is junk then switch it out. Sometimes those older simmons and such fool you.

My 77/22 Hornet is one of the most accurate rifles I own and very very easy to load for! And I love the Rugers little 5shot magazine!

I own one and it is also one of the best shooting rifles I own. Had mine rechambered to the 22 K-Hornet. Brass seems to last longer now.

sounds like you got one heckuva deal to me! I have one of the laminated stainless and it shoots great but I did float the barrel on it. Other than that it's all original, even the trigger which I wouldn't mind being a little bit lighter but it is crisp.

I own a 77/22 Hornet and paid around $600 if memory serves me right.

It wasnt very accurate to start with. So I put a new trigger on it, and floated the barrel. And accuracy has improved dramatically. I like the rifle's feel and weight. It carries quite well
