Ruger M77 Hawkeye

Most of my hunting rifles are Rugers and would not consider selling any of them! Good luck with your search.

I know this thread is for small caliber such as 204, but I have a Hawkeye in 257 Roberts and it is plenty accurate. It will stay in my safe for sure.

I have 2 m77 hawkeye's chambered in 223, and 22-250 as my main calling gun since I could not find a Remington model 700 at the time. I have killed coyotes out to 400 yards with the m77 hawkeye a nice rifle and very accurate been my calling rifle using 2 different reloads a download for fox and a 55 grain HPBT coyote load for 3 years know killed lots of fur with it. No problems at all.

Yeah. Lot of left hand models too. Can't seem to find a hawkeye standard RH in 204 on there. I keep checking daily.

I've been window shopping as I'm going to have to replace my beloved Dtech 243 WSSM with a bolt gun because the landowner where I hunt had a bad experience w/some "hunter" who made a mess of a group of hogs (apparently spray & pray), so he has "outlawed" them on the ranch after this season.

Been reading this thread and sounds like the Hawkeye may be best choice. My favorite bolt guns are mod. 70, largely due to the 3 position safety. Pretty fond of Savage due to their out of the box accuracy but, while safety is three position, it is not as handy as the Win., especially if wearing gloves. Hopefully the Ruger will duplicate Savage accuracy.

I do want to handle one before ordering and still have a bit of time but sure leaning toward the Ruger.

Hey Adam, perhaps they can order the walnut 204 for ya??

Regards,
hm

CDNN is hard to beat for prices and service.

Sometimes they might not have the exact rifle you want as they buy various surplus factory and distributor stocks of rifles in quantity and sell them at great prices. If they have what you want, CDNN will ship to your FFL generally the next day at the latest.

That's great news to hear. They can sure give Bud's a run for their money on those Rugers.
