Does anyone have one and your thoughts. Just checked Ruger Website and they don't seem to offer them anymore. Why? Wife and I have 2 and think they are great little weapons. Opinions.

Big, ugly, ergonmics arent the best. That being said, they are relaible and built like a tank. Just better options out there for the money,IMO.

My brother has one that is OK. Fun to shoot but i don't think i would count on it. I trust my Glocks way more. The mag release tends to stick on his ruger and it just isnt as nice of quality gun. The glock mag release is bulletproof along with the rest of the gun if you have a good one-which most of them are.

I liken mine to their Mini 14. It'll go bang every time, but not going to win any competitive shoots with it. It's fine for what I bought it for. It is my toss it under the seat of the truck carry pistol that can be full of grit and gunk and still fire. Mine is stainless and polymer, so not much to go wrong there. It is too thick to use comfortably as a CCW gun and not really accurate enough to take hunting. I can take mine down in a matter of seconds for cleaning though and it makes a nice night stand piece too. I think their appeal is less than great due to the common 10rnd magazines they originally came out with during the AWB period and the molded frame that didn't allow for multiple grip options or an attachment rail. They aren't exactly "tacticool" so people don't really flock to them. I think the newer LC9 and SR9 are going to replace it since they are more "tacticool" and that is what sells now.

My wifes grandpa left me one...like new in the box. It will feed and shoot anything 9mm and its actually quite accurate for what it is. Definitely not a target pistol but it wasn't sold as such. Price was right and its fun to shoot.

You couldn't get the mag release to stick on mine on a bet. Its about as simple as they get. Inside 25 yds I'd bet my life on mine.
The same pre AWB 13 round mags that fit a P 89 (or similar p series gun) fits your P95.....if you look in the right places you can still find 30 rounders too.

Anyone have a preferred ammo for home defense and plinking.
I need to know. I'm shooting PMC 110gr FMJ for both plinking and home defense. I'd like to have a good defense ammo.

Thanks,
Tony

home defense- 50rd. law enforcement boxes of speer 124gr. +p gold dot hollowpoints. the winchester and remington law enforcement rds are good as well. can get these all for $25 per 50rds if you look in right place.

plinking- all the cheap 115 fmj's work well in my glocks.

+2. big and bulky. better options for carry, but price is right for a plinking gun. mine has never failed with anything i've ever put in it.

I had one about 10 years ago. It was a good shooting gun. I used it to qualify for my carry permit, but eventually sold it to fund getting something smaller. I kind of wish I had kept it and if I ever run across a deal on one and have the money I might get another one.

i won one years ago and love it. not the coolest looking gun but mine shoots great and never had any problems with it. my bro-in-law bought a glock and i destroyed him on our clubs steel plate range. hes ex military and i dont shoot pistol very often and that p**d him off lol. in my opinion its not always the gun its the person holding it and im just really comfortable with the p95 but he didnt want to hear that so he sold the gun.lol

I've had mine since 1996. Paid $249 new and it still shoots great. Someone posted that there are better options for the money and others agreed, but I don't. For the money there is no better 9mm. There are better guns for more money, but they are not $300 bucks.
