That's what I want next in the worst way. Salivating thinking about one.

The 26", 1-7.7 twist barrel reamed to Ackley Improved would sure sling a 95 to 107 grain bullet nicely out too 1000 yards wouldn't it?

Handled one this weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the fit and feel of the entire chassis system (except that the stock doesn't lock in the folded position. I think they dropped the ball there)...and supremely disappointed with the feel and operation of the bolt. My only experience with Rugers of any kind was a CRF M77 so take that for what it's worth. I just didn't like the feel of the bolt.
It would be very nice to have the switch barrel option with this type of rig though and I have seriously considered picking one up as a cheap trainer to keep rounds out of my match rifles.

I have the 243 on backorder with my gun guy and all my intentions are to ackley it when it gets here. Granted given the usual wait times with his wholesaler it might be years!

I would just pick one up elsewhere.
I handled one at Scheels and asked the guy if they had any trouble keeping them on the shelves.
The fella said they had only sold three. All .243 Win and there was one 6.5Creed on the shelf.
I immediately assumed it was because they wanted full retail or more...but the tags showed 1099.

My gun guy is a close relation and the prices I get are absolutely unbeatable. If there is something I can't live without I go find it, otherwise I just patiently wait.

That boat helps the pocket book a lot when you got obsessions like mine.
 
Their ad says the barrels are interchangeable with standard AR tools - that makes it a switch barrel in my mind. i think if you give the aftermarket a couple of years to gauge popularity and gear up, this gun is gonna take off such that everyone else has to play ball like what Savage has done to "standard" bolt actions....FWIW.

JCH found one and had a good range report from this past weekend. You might call him if you'd like to handle one before you buy.

savage will have lost a customer base on this one.
 
I picked one up today in .243. Will post a report soon. Called all over Va. and finally found one at Greentop in Richmond, $1,099 out the door. When I called yesterday they said they had 2, they held one for me and I drove down today and picked it up, about 160 miles. When I walked up to the counter a guy was buying the other one, glad I called yesterday.

Rotate the tab end of the stock release button clockwise 1/4 turn to lock the stock in the folded position. Page 24, figure 13 of the manual.

Please order up a box of the 115's and try them, they should stabilize and work great, highest grain I've read a report on is someone running the 107smk.

I'd love to see someone post a video of the 243 at 1,000yds comparing the 105hybrid, 107smk, and the 115. Be incredible if he also brought it out to say... A mile to see how they transition with it.
