I have one in 308. I had a 243 on order since they were introduced and never recieved it before they were canceled. Solid moa rifle. I like how the bore is in line with the stock. I feel like it pushes straight back, making it easier to stay on target.
Doesn't seem like a popular rifle around here. I decided to give it a shot, got one in 6.5 Creedmore and am looking forward to seeing how it shoots. I think the optics will be fairly limiting but for now I put a Vortex Viper on it...not great glass but at the price point it looks OK. Down the road I'll put a nicer scope on it, I'm think it's going to be tough to beat for a budget long range plinker.
There is a facebook page dedicated to the worship of the RPR if you are on facebook. It's a cool idea, I might be interested if they were offered in Long action or calibers I already didn't have great shooting rifles in. A .338 Lapua comes to mind...

I have a Burris Xtr II 5-25 mounted on it . I must say the xtr series of scopes have made me a Burris fan.
One of the things I really like about the stock on these, is the quick adjustment. When I go from prone to sitting it's only a flip of the lever and a push or pull, lock it down and I'm ready to go again.
The group at 200 opened up a good bit between the wind and shooter it wasn't the best group I've seen. That said I'm more than happy with the accuracy of the rifle. Another 100 rounds or so to break it in and I'll start to work some loads up, I'm excited to see how well it does at it's best.

I had to go and look for myself. Sure enough they offer it in 5.56. To me that is just foolishness. Discontinue a caliber that you have standing orders for and then release it in one of the worst bolt action caliber I can think of. Many gun shops in my area won't stock many 223/5.56 bolt actions because they simply don't sell.

I suspect they figure there is a market in the F-Class stuff that lets you shoot a 223. It's all about the bottom line in selling what's cool to the masses.
20" 7 twist is a pretty decent setup. I think id want a longer barrel [beeep]. 24-26" would be alittle better on a bolt action.
Savage offers the F/TR 223 with a 30" 7 twist and it does very well.
I thought is was cool when it first come out, waited and waited for one in 243. Lo and behold, got a Remington 700 5r g2 in 260, well I'm not hating it one bit. Ruger is releasing it in 6mm Creedmoor but got rid of 243. What makes sense about that.

The .243 was a sweet rifle, but there aren't any factory loads out there that can take advantage of that twist. The market of people reloading for fast twist .243 (while may be popular) isn't very big. I would guess that 90%+ of the people who buy RPR's aren't hand loaders.
If they had come out with the 5.56/223 the first time I would have one already. I now have a very good shooter in 223. Was looking at the 6mm Creedmor but, it is too similar to the 243 and I already have a couple of the old 6mm's. Time will tell on the sales of both rounds. I suspect they will do O.K. Rudy

I never recieved the 243 RPR that I had on order. Obviously they couldn't keep up with the demand for the 243, or I would have gotten mine. I just don't see how anyone can claim there wasn't demand for the 243 when they couldn't even fill the orders.
The local shop owners tell me that they have a hard time selling bolt action .223. I'm told that if someone comes in looking for a small caliber bolt action they usually leave with a 204 or 22-250. This may be a regional thing, I'm not sure.
How many F-class shooters are there? How many of them shoot 223/5.56? I would think not many.
I would think if you are a competition (bench rest; f-class) shooter you would reload or you wouldn't be competitive.
This is jmo. I already purchased a second one in 308 that I will rebarrel to 243.
