Ruger Precision Rifle

So your trying to tell me that no one shoots 223s, and there would no demand? How many people that shoot the rpr to its designed purpose, walk into a gun store and buy a gun off the shelf on a whim to shoot distance. Select few of any. I know lots of guys like having a secondary rifle in 223 to practice with. Heck I shoot LR matches with mine. And if anyone thinks a 7twist 20in 223 won't get yo 1k....you need to get out some more.

Personally, I couldn't understand why they didn't offer a 223 right out of the gate. Genius idea imo.

who said no one shoots 223? or that they won't sell? I was comparing Rugers decision to stop production on a caliber that evidently had great demand(notice the lack of them on the shelf)and then offer it in an upstart caliber and one that at least locally isn't popular in a bolt action. I had to order my RRR in 5.56 because the LGS wasn't going to stock bolt .223.There also wasn't one mention of a 5.56 going to a 1k, but I think a majority of people think there is a better choice, especially for competition.

Fact is, every one likes there own flavor for their own reasons. I just didn't like Ruger's decision on this one.

I think you've got it backwards here, I'd better believe 90% of people buying RPR's are handloaders

Guess what I saw in the Scheels in SooFoo today? Yep RPR in 5.56. Said they had it a week. Told me the 6 and 6.5 Creedmoor don't usually stay in the store more than a day. Brilliant marketing!
