Ruger Suspends Production of Several Major Models

Whatever the case is, i just hope they dont lose sight of their quality. More and more reviews are not so great with the gen 2 american. Still, I know many ppl that will buy them just because of the name.

Its good to learn from your own mistakes, but the wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Let remington stay the others!
 
From what I've read on other forms and discussing the list with my local gun shop. The guns on the list are slow sellers. I have spent my whole working life in tool rooms and stamping shops. Storing fixtures and tooling takes a lot of space. Then add in machine change over time to different jobs it gets very expensive. This adds to manufacturing cost. This plus profits dictate cost. The cost of manufactured goods has risen drastically since covid. Ruger is in business to make money it looks to me they are dropping unprofitable products.
 
For the past 30 years, I have been running 3 different gun stores. I can say Ruger just priced themselves out of the market.
I understand the price increase since Covid on everything, but when prices go up almost double, with no changes to justify the large increase, people move on to different brands.
Not to mention, the newer generation of shooters is more concerned with price than quaility. Thats not a bad thing, just a fact of marketing.
