Zohran Mamdani’s first big interview after winning NYC’s mayoral race is already a disaster.

Pressed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC about how he plans to “Trump-proof” his city, Mamdani went full socialist:

Mamdani: “I think you have to raise taxes on the top 1% of New Yorkers — New Yorkers who make more than a million dollars a year.”
“You raise taxes on them 2%, and increase the corporate tax of New York State to match New Jersey — from 7.25% to 11.5%. These things together raise about $9 billion, which more than pays for our economic agenda and also starts to Trump-proof our city.”

Stephanopoulos pushed back:

“Are you worried that could drive a lot of job creators out of New York?”

Mamdani doubled down:

“What I’ve heard from business leaders is that the affordability crisis is affecting their ability to attract and retain talent… The city’s inability to provide childcare means families are paying $22,500 a year. It’s time for city government to step up.”

Then Stephanopoulos hit him with reality:

“That kind of tax increase will require the state — including Governor Hochul. Is she on board?”

Mamdani insisted:

“I’m proud to have Governor Hochul’s endorsement and the endorsement of our agenda… If there are other ways to raise these funds, the most important thing is that we fund this agenda.”

Problem: The city can’t raise income taxes without state approval, and Hochul has repeatedly said she won’t raise taxes on the wealthy.

Translation: Mamdani’s “Trump-proof” plan is already falling apart — less than 24 hours after his election.
 
Obama was all about equal distribution of the wealth. taking from the rich and giving to the poor. if you built something you didnt do it by yourself. you can keep your doctor. we are going to make healthcare affordable.

Obama told us that he was going to "change the nation". "We" should have listened. This was his target from day one, he just ran out of time and enough of the population was still not brainwashed to give them another term to continue "the plan". Open borders were part of the plan which is largely responsible for NYC. The rest is history.
 
Oh, and guess what! Democraps just announced that there are 12 Democraps now willing to "talk" about the shutdown, (now that the election is over and all political wins in their pockets) now Chuckie and Hakeem are ready to "talk to the president". Nancy Pelosi just announced her retirement, the radical left will, if not already accomplished, soon be in control of the party.
 
I love the "city run grocery stores" idea, when the shelves are empty even the low information voters will understand socialism has NEVER worked. And in a city-- which produces no food/energy products, they can all eat rice with their fingers just remember which hand wiped your a__.
 
When they see that everything free turns into an absolute shitshow, they might wake up? When the free public transportation is packed with bums, thugs and addicts. When their free child daycare is overwhelmed and kids are neglected or worse. And on and on.

The bigger issue is that even when it doesn’t work, the morons in Albany will refuse to say their golden child is destroying the place. They’ll raise taxes statewide to fund the idiots delusional policies so they can say it’s working. Pure stupidity.
