Safe in the Garage Is this a good Idea

I don't have a safe nor do I own any guns

If I had one it would have to go in the garage as close to a corner as possible with the open edge of door towards the corner to keep vandals from being able to pry on it well.

Id also leave it on the pallet it can on and bolt it down to the slab

I wouldnt do it the bank doesnt leave the safe in the lobby ive had golden rods go bad im glad it only cost me one rusty gun barrel i keep alot of things in my safe along with my guns.
 
Concrete is porous, and moisture leaching up from below is a possibility in certain circumstances. I would do as others have suggested and raise the safe off the floor some and in such a way as to allow airflow underneath.
 
There is an inherent problem with gun safes that most spouses don't understand. When I was single I kept my guns under beds and in corners of closets. They were carefully segregated. When I remarried my wife insisted on a gun safe. Sense all my guns are in close proximity some of my old rough and tumble guns have hooked up with some of my sweet little ladies and I have had an outbreak of offspring. So trust me buy way more gun safe than you currently need to allow for this phenomenon.

I had mine in the garage in a humid climate very near the ocean. A golden rod
worked fine. I put two small ones in just in case one went bad. I put a square
of linoleum flooring down first then a 3/8 piece of plywood, 1/4 would be better.
You don't want to make it easy for a spud bar to be shoved under it. Use big
washers on the bolts or red heads. And Out of Sight is out of mind is the best
advice I've seen given. Make Absolutely sure that no one coming or going can
see the thing when the garage is open. It only takes one big mouth.

I checked on this same thing a month ago. Best coverage i could get threw my insurance was 4000.00 on firearms. that was it. It was an eye opener that pissed me off. Just another way for them to wiggle there way around and be less liable in a time of total loss.

+1 I just installed my safe in the garage. Winchester from Costco 60*40*26(?) and it's sooo much easier to fill it without having to go through the house
