Safest Way to Cross a Electric Fence

These new electric fences that use high tension wire with plastic posts are a challenge to cross. Anyone have a safe method?
I hunt with electronic ear muffs, and the electric going through the wires really make the muffs snap, crackle, & pop! I don't like getting zapped!

Well the first thing ya wanna do is to pee on it, make sure it's on, if'n it isn't you can just hold her down and step yer leg over.

Don't use your gun butt to push the wire down

A hot wire in your crotch will make you move in ways you never thought possible!

Take a jumper wire with you to short out the fence.
Maybe about 2ft long with INSULATED alligator clips on both
ends.
Clip 1 end on the hot wire and the other end on a t-post or
ground wire if there is one. Wait until you hear the popping
noise to stop. Step thru the fence, remove the jumper wire.

If there is not a metal t-post, take a long nail with you,
put nail into the ground a few inches and then attached the
jumper wire to that.

Again, wait until the popping noises stop before crossing
the fence.

Do not forget to remove that wire as soon as you're thru the
fence or you will have 1 really PO'd fence owner.

Every fence I have ever come across has a gate handle somewhere. I have also pushed them down or up with my shooting stick that has a rubber v on top.

Depends on how the fence is hung.

Most of the hot-wire around here is a single strand around wheat. It's usually less than crotch high, so a guy can step over it. If not, a guy can either step on the wire to push it to the ground (rubber sole boots), or loosen one of the insulators on the electric fence post and lower it to the ground, step over, raise it back up.

If it's the mid-line of another type of wire fence (a lot of guys that run goats around here line barbed wire fences with E-fence around thigh high), then just climb the wire fence, then step around/over the E-wire.
