Sako 85

Hi All,

I'm tossing around the idea of a Sako 85 varmint (laminated stock)for my next toy. I heard that some of these rifles come with a trigger that can be adjusted down to 7 ounces. Is this true? What's the thoughts on this system? Everything I have heard about this gun has been great, I'm just unfamiliar with this trigger.

Thanks!

You must be referring to the "set" trigger. It will be adjustable 2-4 lbs for standard trigger use and then after loading a round you can push the trigger forward for the set. I believe it is 7-8 ounce pull weight on the set.
Sako has a very nice trigger.

Handled one of these at the local gun shop yesterday in .308 Win. The trigger was nice and it does have a set trigger like my CZ but much better. The action was very smooth and the gun just felt solidly built. It was heavy but it has a fairly long SS barrel and laminate stock. The magazine is a little tricky to remove. Price was ~$1700.00.

I think it would be nice, I do have a standard weight 75 in 243. The varmint model would be on the heavy side for extended carry. What chambering and use do you plan?

I'm debating on either a 22-250 or 223. I already have a cooper 22-250 so I'm leaning toward the 223. I think it would be a good gun for 0-300 as a paper puncher/ground hog gun.
