So is the roughtech gonna be available in the states? They look sick on the website and I could see a 243 coming home w me if they are available

Not sure about in the USA mate, they will be for us in Australia. They won't be hitting our shores for a few months time and the Berreta Australia rep I spoke too said that they haven't even started advertisement yet. Not sure what that means for you guys.

They have lots of stuff on their site that's unavailable.

Just speaking from experience, stick with the Tikka,Sako,Remington for accuracy and don't over look Savage. You may be disappointed with the Encore. Some will argue the point but I have owned several T/C Encores with several different barrels. Factory, custom shop, as well as MGM. They shot good but ended up going down the road for bolt rifles. The Roughtech should be awesome, BUT I recently had to deal with Beretta's customer service with a Sako 85 Finnlight and it is HORRIBLE. First, I bought a $1,500 rifle expecting 5 shot 1" groups. It shot groups that looked like they came out of my Nova not my Sako. 4" groups with 4 different premium factory loads, 2"-3" groups with 11 different handload combinations, the Duratouch coating on the stock started peeling off after 3 trips to the bench. They had the gun for over 2 months before they even replied back and then said I had to give them my Credit Card Number before they would even touch it, and I would be charged a $70 shooting fee and shipping there and back if it shot MOA, and they said the stock peeling was normal wear and I'd be charged $225 to refinish it. After another month or so they shipped a new gun without ever emailing or calling to say there was something wrong with it. My new gun showed up and it had a big blob of red paint on the stock which I was sure was gonna take the Duratouch coating off but luckily I was able to spend a while picking at it with my fingernail and got it off. They QC and Customer Service has gone to he77. Haven't shot the new one yet but hopefully it'll group better than Minute of Barn Door like the last one. Oh and my buddy ordered the same gun on the same day and his shot as bad or worse!

There are exceptions to every rule, but all the T/C Encores I have owned just shot OK. With exception to their muzzle loaders which usually are tack drivers, go figure?? I won't say all are bad or even most are bad, I just think for the money you pay, the accuracy just doesn't match the cost. The worst part is I think they are cool as heck rifles, just wish you could squeeze more out of them.

I have a T/C Venture in a .22-250 and shoot 50 grain Nosler ballistic tips out of it and that thing is a tack driver. I love my Venture so far. Can't wait to take it to the field.

Yeah I was warned about their customer service, I think it may be more an American based problem, in Australia they're a lot smaller and in my dealings with them so far they have been very helpful. That's still no good about your gun, was it the same batch as your mates? What type of calibre was it?

That's a bit disappointing considering they're a $1800 rifle here, he's read plenty of reviews on them and the only ones that are outstanding are those from people who have put serious money into modifying them.

Well..... here I thought it was just cheap Remington's that you needed to put a bunch of money into.

Doesnt sound all bad, if they sent you a new gun.
I sent two sakos back as I felt there was a feeding issue caused by the magazine. From Washington state to Accokeek Md.
Beretta contacted me and issued me a check to cover shipping and insurance that I had paid. They returned the rifles without notice shipped UPS with some guys name listed as the shipper. I assume they do this for security measures.
Beretta has survived 500 years for a reason and the family tree is almost a straight line.

Nope, I've got a JellyCannon tracker. It works similar to the Santa Claus tracker that NORAD does every year for kids. It lets me know when and where you post so I can reply within minutes.
