I'm looking at this Savage Model 11 Trophy Hunter XP with a Nikon 3x9x40 BDC reticle scope package. I found it at Buds Gun Shop for $436.00 shipped. Seems like one [beeep] of a calling package for the money. Savage lists it at $675.00 on their website. I'd like it in .22-250 for calling coyotes here in east central Ohio. My uncle's farm is starting to get way too many coyotes on it. There were 5 out together in a field last weekend while I was bowhunting.

Anyone have an opinion on this setup? I've owned or currently own Savage rifles and they have all been great.

Sounds like a good deal to me, but I don't know gun prices down south too well.

One issue I've seen with the Savage packages is that they use cheap rings/bases. You may want to replace those right off the hop.

I bought the same rifle a couple of months ago I'm just finally getting around to working up some loads this weekend. I did play around with some imr 4064 and 52 gain sierra matchking. Had one group that had 4 out of 5 shot touching the oddball was a inch out. That load was running about 3300 fps the faster they got the groups started to open up some but even then the worst was only a 1 1/8 running around 3600fps. So all in all I'm happy with it going to town this morning to buy a pound of rel 15 and start working with it.
