Savage 12 FCV 22-250 question.

I was think of getting another 22-250 and I've really good things about the Accustock and Accutrigger, so I was looking at the Savage 12 FCV 22-250. Savage has so many models that I could use some help on which to choose. This particular gun sells for street price 650 - 700 and I would like to stay in that price range. If you have any other suggestions, let's hear it.

This rifle would be 100% varmint. 98% groundhogs, 1% fox and a 1% coyote if I'm lucky.

Thank you,

Eric

I have a 12fv in 22-250. Not a rifle I wanna tote around calling all day but for what you want it for Id say anyhting in the 12 series would work wonders.

I forgot to add the fvss is a model 12 and mines not the accustock, so it may even be better now with the accustock.

What's up with your VTR? The 12 FCV sounds like a heavy beast for trudging around Virginia farmland. We both have one of those nice Browning A-Bolt Hornets and...speaking solely for myself...I have become a big fan of the lighter pencil barrel guns for the kind of groundhog hunting I do. My 'heavy' gun is my Savage Predator 243 and that heavy barrel starts to wear on me after walking around in this summer heat. I do love it...love that Savage Accustock and Accutrigger...and will probably carry it on a trip later today

...but I will also have the lighter Browning in the truck and take turns with it as I change farms. Hopefully you are made of sturdier stock than I am and can lug your dream gun regardless of the weight! For myself I see no reason to go longer than 24" for the barrel and have seen great results using less-than-heavy contour barrels.

I like this one (been eyeballing it for a 204R gun) Savage 11 FCNS but they have it chambered in 22-250 and it comes with both Accustock and Accutrigger.
