I am looking for reviews on this model. I am looking at the 22-250, but I'm looking for general performance, accuracy, and reliability. What did you like and what did you not like? Thanks

I have the same gun.shoots 55 grain max super. many coyotes have fell to it.only drawback is the ugly Tupperware stock!nothing a can of flex stone paint couldn't fix.

I bought the model 16 in 243 for my 13 - year old. It took me a few minutes hand loading to have it shooting .75 moa. It has sent several 'chucks and whitetails home to their maker. You won't find a better value; don't hesitate.

Some of the 16/116 has accustock but some don't it looks like and they have SS barrel. Big jump in price over the 10/11s for those two things. I just got myself a 11 trophy hunter and I really like it. The stock(not accustock) is a pos but it is a really nice overall.

Assuming predator/target rifle since its 22-250. If that is the case Savage has a few predator options like longer and/or fluted barrels.

Do you reload or have you checked for ammo at local stores? Where I live 22-250 is very hard to find... no selection and expensive for what I can find. I think 22-250 is way more fun to shoot than 223 but the cost of it is a bit painful.

I have two Model 16s, one was a factory 22-250 Rem., and it was an accurate rifle, but I lusted after a 6mm Rem. more, so I swapped out the 22-250 Rem. barrel for a 6mm Rem. custom barrel. The other was a factory 204 Ruger, that switches to a 260 Rem. when I need another deer rifle, and back to 204 Ruger, when I need another varmint/predator rifle.

You really can't go wrong with the Savage Model 16...The Accu-Trigger can be enhanced with target springs, which gets it down into the 1 lb trigger pull range, if you want light crisp triggers. I have heard the Accu-Stock is suitable. I have mine in B&C Duramaxx stocks(discontinued). There are after market stocks available. And anytime you grow tired of the 22-250, or you shoot out the barrel, it is easily re-barreled.

If I find a used one at a fair price, I am likely to hurt myself reaching for my wallet, so my recommendation is buy one!

I found the accutrigger meh at first... the more I use it the more I love it. Its strange how a trigger that light can feel so safe. I could see going under factory levels with it.

I recently bought a 16 in 250 Savage, my excuse was it was for my wife. I have always wanted a 250 Savage and ran across it. Great shooter. Very easy to find several accurate loads for.
