Savage 220 swift single shot

Hey everyone just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my Savage 220 swift. Its a single shot but it is a tack driver. has 26" bull barrel. Anyone shoot one like this?

I remember when Savage was making this rifle. It was available in repeater and single shot if memory serves. I remember a test that Dave Arnold did on the single shot version. It shot an average of 5/8" groups. That is the average. Single shot bolt guns are generally thought to be more accurate than repeaters because the action should be a bit more stiff. Doubt that anyone would ever see the diff in the field.

You certainly have yourself a keeper there, Son. If you do not share my feelings about that fine gun and caliber, shoot me a PM and ask me if I would like to take it off your hands for you!

Nice rifle, I have 1 in a 223. Shoots very good so far and should do much better by spring. I will be having it bedded and adding some bling to the bolt. I really like the single shot action for G-hog hunting.

Hey - that's my gun! I bought mine years ago. When I go to the range I seem to shoot my swift last - the .17 Rem is almost always up first for I have a love/hate relationship with that rifle. Then come out whatever other projects I may have to try out. This can make for frustrating, blood pressure raising moments as you see groups being splattered all over the place. Pull out that swift, feed it whatever you want and relax as you shoot tiny groups or make paint cans explode! I predict you will have that gun for years to come - it's "good medicine".
