i have been throwing around the idea of a savage over/under in 12 gauge and .22 hornet for awhile now, what are the advantages and disadvantages of these guns and if you have one how do they shoot and would you buy the gun again.

I have one in 20ga./.22 that I bought while stationed in Tn. years ago. It is a great squirel/rabbit gun, very accurate. I was thinking about the 12ga./.223 for predators myself,,if I can talk my better half into letting me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I have a 223/20 great for Turkey and calling predators. If the target hangs up out a way you can use the .223 if they come in real close in heavy cover use the shotgun.Good rifle/shotgun if you don't mind single shots. Like my good friend sez,"1 shot,1 Kill".

I have the 223 12 and so far so good, the only thing i dont like is the new style side mount scope base. It seems to move quite easily but it does shoot well and is the ultimate coyote gun! I am currently checking on having it drilled and tapped for a better scope base system but other then that it is a great predator gun!

i've carried around one in 20/222 on the floor of my truck for quite awhile. Handiest thing ever. I've never grouped the rifle barrel, but it is good enough to dust off a crow out to about 200, and the 20 ga. has provided more than an occassional pheasant dinner
