I picked up a used .308 that had quite a bit of custom work done and went to the range with some Federal Gold Medal competition ammo that I knew shot well and had installed a scope that I had used on another rifle, but had sitting on the shelf..I couldn't get the rifle to group worth a darn, with the good ammo...
I pulled the scope, went to Wally World and bought one of those cheap Center Point scopes for $65 that was really made for an air rifle (air rifles are extremely hard on standard scopes) and have had no problem since..Now, I have to justify a better quality scope for the future...The good ones that I have are already set on other rifles and I don't want to disturb them...
