Savage AccuTrigger

Those Accutriggers sure are sweet! On a gun without one, what will a Timney (or comparable brand) do for me? At some point I'll have enough guns (?) and I'll start upgrading the ones I have. Any rifle I have that has a trigger adjustment as an option has been tampered with already. I like a light trigger pull. Can I expect a more accurate gun with an upgraded trigger system?

My experience has been that a light trigger pull removes the chance for you to pull too hard on the trigger and affect your aim.

That being said, I was out shooting today and came to the conclusion the trigger pull on my Rifle Basix trigger on my Stevens may be too light at 2lbs.

A better trigger makes it EASIER to shoot accurately in a firearm that is already accurate. It will not increase the accuracy.

+1 On both above.I have a .22 Rf with the accutrigger and a CZ 527 with an adjustable trigger. The Savage was fine as it came but I had to lower the pull weight on the CZ.After some tinkering I got it so I still had good feel wearing gloves but not so heavy that it might pull off my aim.

I'm not a fan of the accutrigger and think Savage made a mistake by changing to it from the old 3 screw adjustable trigger in the older models. Those ol' 3 screws can be tuned just fine for everything but the most serious target work.

i love the accutrigger in the 10FP-SR .308. Breaks just where it startles you as it should, it's not a one holer (yet) but it will cloverleaf 4 with one called flyer just about every time. I like it.

Can't stand the accu-trigger or the older one for that matter. I've been using aftermarket triggers like the Sharpshooter supply model on my Savages.

Same here, although my solution to the problem is a little different.

I have a few savage guns with the accutrigger & I like them myself, all are set to 1.5lbs for my varminting & hunting.
On my older ones I put the Rifle Basix Savage #2 trigger and its even sweeter.

Love my Savage accu trigger. I love my Marlin XL7 adjustable trigger and my Howa adjustable trigger. Adjustable is good.

But trigger control is key. You can still jerk a 2lb trigger or get a nice clean release on a heavy trigger. Good control will reap the benefits of a light trigger in my experience.

I sold off several of mine too. About the only thing Savage on mine now, are the actions. One 6mmBR and a 6XC

I actually went a step farther and sold my Savage.

I did however, shoot one of those new LPRB single shots in 6BR that I think I could get to liking if it weren't for that dang Accu Trigger.

Different strokes eah?
