If your dead on @ 25, you should be pretty close @ 100. Only way to find out is to shoot @ 100 with a target at least 8 1/2" x 11". You should still be on paper, shoot a group...then adjust your scope so that you're sighted in dead on @ 100.

Lots of great help. Thanks everyone! It's shooting pretty good now. About 1" groups about a inch high of the bullseye. So I'm thinking it will be just about right on the bullseye at 200 yards so maybe I'll have some dogs posted soon! Trigger pull is really hard though. I'm sure a lighter one would help the stock flex when firing. Hopefully I can find a cheap replacement for it and a affordable scope. Nikon maybe? This bushnell is garbage for sure

Its cost prohibitive to work on an axis trigger. Unless you have a spare quarter, then you can drop it to 3-4 pounds in10 minutes.

Can u explain this a little bit or post a link? Sorry I'm still somewhat new too modifying aspect of rifles still. And sorry if this whole post seems like a bunch of dumb Q and A on my part

he is talking about buying a spring at the hardware store for a quarter to replace the factory trigger spring. and that does work good. you can also save you quarter and do this.

its easy to do and does lighten the pull a bunch.

I have Axis rifles in both .22-250 and .223. A few points to add.

Both rifles shoot right at 1 inch with factory loads and just under an inch with handloads for a 5 shot group. The best 5 shot groups I've gotten were in the .95 to .92 range, again these are real groups with 5 shots, not get-lucky groups with 3. I use 50 grain for the .223 and 52 g for the .22-250.

When I got my first Axis, I did do the trigger mod per the link above. It significantly reduced the pull weight, but did not remove the creep or the overtravel. It's a good cheap fix to improve it, but the ultimate fix is to spend $89 on a Rifle Basix drop in fully-adjustable trigger. I now have the RB triggers in both rifles.

Before somebody chimes in with the "why buy a cheap rifle and then pay to upgrade it", please point me to a STAINLESS rifle that shoots better than the Axis and costs

Yep, just search for 'axis trigger' and you'll get a walkthrough. It's quick and easy. I spent $4-5 on a bunch of springs when I did mine, swapped them around until I found one I liked. More work than is required but it's what I felt like doing. The factory trigger weighs in on my scale at 18 billion pounds, but is pretty clean.

Mine is sitting at 3-4 pounds on one of my hunting rifles. It shoots as well as I can on any given day, which is pretty darn good some days.

And the stock flex fix is an answer in search of a problem imo. Unless I set the rifle across a pair of blocks and jump up and down on it, it won't flex enough to matter. And if it flexed 10" from the recoil of a .22lr and still had touching groups, I don't care. As long as it shoots well it can do whatever the [beeep] it wants

The mags HAVE to be inserted rear first. I've messed it up once or twice and a quick thump will seat it, but long term that will probably cause problems. Back first and the front clicks in easy.

IMO pretty only exists down range, what it looks like against my shoulder doesn't matter in the least. In that aspect the axis is very pretty indeed. The fact that I paid $209 for it is just gravy.
