savage axis stock help

I have a savage axis 223 with the junk factory stock, I want to reinforce the plastic stock just for the time being, does anyone have any suggestions or what worked for them? I want to get a boyds but don't want to have to sight it in again.
 
I jb welded the mag box in. I also jb welded some wood on the pistol grip to make it more vertical. Looked pretty bad but shot fine. It didn't shoot poorly out of the box either.

Go to wal mart and get plastic epoxy. I think Loc-tite makes it. I used 2 packages of it on my 93 17hmr and it made a huge difference in stiffness.
I just mixed it up on paper plates with a popsicle stick and poured it in. I also filled the butt with expanding foam. That got rid of the hollowness. And made it feel more solid. That gun is 1/2 MOA all day long and was not before the mods. I also smoothed out the barrel channel and where the action mounts with sandpaper....you will want to rough sand the areas where you will pour the epoxy to ensure it adheres. Idk if thats 100% necessary but i did it and had zero issues...took a few hours for it to dry...u will also want to reinstall your barreled action and torque to spec as soon as the epoxy starts to set....maybe 20-30min after.

are you filling the entire stock with the epoxy? and what do you mean tork to specs when the epoxy is drying, the gun will shoot pop bottle caps at 100 on bags i just want to enforce the foreend for a bipod.

That's what always gets with the axis stock questions. Not picking directly on the OP. I have a gun that shoots awesome. I spend a lot of hours and time on making the stock 'better'. Then it shoots the same but is 'better'. A lot of time and money wasted. It seems like people obsess over a non-problem.

I've yet to see anyone say their axis shoots badly, they spend a lot of time on a stock, and it shoots good. It's always, a good shooter but this MUST be a problem, and it's still a good shooter in the end if they don't screw it up.

It doesn't make sense to me. If someone wants to play with their gun, go at it. I just don't see the reason to make a problem that's being fixed just for the sake of playing with the gun.

dont want to tinker with it just to tinker the stock is so loose that when its on a bipod it moves around. i just wanted to beef up the forend to make it more stable with a bipod
