Savage Axis trigger

Has anybody had or did a trigger job on their axis rifle? I came across a good deal on a 22-250(trade) and am having a trigger job done on it. Is 3lb pull to much to ask? Am I better off with a Timney? What results/experiences have you had?

Great white I believe there are 1 or 2 threads on here on the subject. Is that a really big cat or a really good job at taking a pic of a cat. Where are you at in OK?

I put RifleBasix triggers in my Axis/Savage (non accu-trigger) rifles.

3# is do-able. You'll be happy.

Check out savage shooters.com. They have enough info on triggers for you to read till the cows come home.

NE Oklahoma. 26lbs, 1st cat. Thanks for the replies

gr8white, trigger spring replacement or shortening of factory spring and polishing of trigger sear should get you down to 3lbs, leastways it did for me.

I'll be happy with 3lbs. The bolt is pretty stiff when it is cocking the firing pin, does the bolt action get smoother with use?
