Savage Edge trigger work question

What gets done and to what? Can someone point out on this photo? Is it the horizontal spring or the vertical spring? I'm thinking the vertical spring.

My friend has the Edge in .308 and although he has good trigger control, I can't see that lightening the pull could be bad.

I wouldn't go anymore than 1 coil for starters and then see what you've got. I've done between 1 coil and about 1 1/2 coils on 2 different guns and they both responded differently. Both pulls got lighter, but the difference between 1 and 1 1/2 was much bigger than you would think. Start small and stay on the safe side.
