savage mdl 12 .220 swift ????? info needed

I still have my first varmint rifle i ever bought. Savage mdl 12 .220 swift single shot BA. synthetic stock stainless heavy flued free float barrel. just wanting info on history, value, why the single shot and how many made thanks. Gob bless

You got a good one I will tell you that. Wish I had one of those.

The action is a single shot because generally it is regarded that without a magazine cutout the action is going to be stiffer and that is a boon to accuracy.

They did not sell too well when Savage came out with them but to find a nice used one nowadays it will cost you lot more then they sold for back when they first came out.

Yes I load for it just trying to find the sweet spot on this rifle. How you got how much you want and how many time it been fired ?

Start with a 50 grain pill and work up to a a max load of IMR4064.
