I did a trigger shim on a MK II that belongs to my daughter's boyfriend. It helped considerably. With a bit more time I think I can make it nice. He has the $127 WalMart special. It seemed silly to put a hundred dollar trigger on that rifle, since it was purchased as a way to shoot cheap.

I have a 17 HMR with the pre-Accutrigger. I had a smith do the trigger for $35 and it is pretty good. Today I would use the mods and do it myself myself.

You could replace it with a rifle basix trigger. Takes maybe 15 minutes tops and they work real well. I have even thought of replacing my accu trigger with one.

what do they go for?

My Savage 110 does not have the accu-trigger. After I bought it I found out that a friend worked over the trigger. Its sharp and crisp. Don't have a gauge so cant tell what it breaks at. They can be reworked. Might want to take a look at that.
