Scam Alert

Guys, I’m pretty sure that I have become a victim of a scam on this site. I would like to share the details to prevent others from the same situation. Just wondering how to go about it? Are there rules for that sort of thing? Should I try to contact the site administrator? Thanks

WTB ads unfortunately are prime real-estate for scammers looking to get your money.

Yep I learned that the hard way. Really sad. I’ve been a member on this site for many years under my other user id and email before I retired. I bought and sold guns, ammo, and bullets with no issues. Guess u can’t trust anyone nowadays.

I followed up with the Moderator. He reached out to the guy but got no reply. He was on the site yesterday but is long gone now.

maybe the mods can help you with information on the member once you contact law enforcement in the proper area.

More than likely it wasn't a real (participating) member. Probably just some scum registered through a vpn with bogus info. Been happening for years on snipers hide. Usually targeting those with wtb ads and contacting through private messages.

Ive bought and sold a lot here and on other sites and only once did i havea problem. My fault for not verifying before sending money.If they arent a well known member with a lot of history i would require a video phone call with the item in hand. Just do your part to ensure you don't get scammed.

Agreed, if I would have asked for his driver’s license to be placed beside the ammo in the pic he sent that would have been the end of it. Hindsite…

Hey I ran into this FgHunt also about 3 days ago. I ran an add for a hard to find Fox Pro ecaller and he responded. It never went anywhere after I told him I only deal with Paypal Goods and Services. I never heard another peep.
