im sure this has been brought up but i was wondering if these scopes are of any quality or not. when i talked to the guy at scheels he told he they are comparible to the nikon buckmaster and that the glass comes out of the same factory as the leupolds. they do have a lifetime warrenty though. just seeing what you guys think or if you know who makes them. also i am kinda looking for a scope with target knobs. does anyone know of a good one for under $300. thanks

Scheels in Great Falls is one of those stores that has everything.. but always
at a premium price. I would be hesitant to be the guinea pig on their scopes.
Maybe wait until you see some write ups on them as well as forum posts.

I bought Nikon Monarch Binos from Scheels this fall and returned them the next day, getting the Scheels brand instead for less $$ and better quality. The also offer an over the counter warranty. I've also looked at their scopes and they're at least $75-100 overpriced for their quality. I would look at any of the Bushnell or Nikon line before their store brand.

This one is 409.95 for the best glass leupold makes its a fixed 6x42 with a long range duplex balistic reticle. The beauty of this is that with 6x you can hand hold it and be able to shoot when stalking and its a wide enough field of view to get onto game even at 50 yds but the reticle will allow you to zero at 200 then use the dots below for 300 and 400 and where the line goes thin to thick below that for 500 yds. check to make sure as different calibers have different trajectory. The 42mm divided by 6 power gives a 7mm exit eye pupil so it is a very bright scope as bright as the human eye can possibly use and fixed power scopes are much tougher and more durable than variables. If you could live with a higher power fixed power you can go into a Super Sniper with target knobs http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-10x42-Tactical-Riflescope-P499.aspx
