If you want to check your rings, and have a boresighter, you can put your gun in a vise, use the boresighter to get a picture of where it is aligned now (i.e. 2 boxes right, 2 boxes up from center), remove the scope, reverse the rings, mount the scope, and recheck where it is in the boresighter. This will not solve your problem, but if your rings are reversed, the alignment will change drastically when you swap them. I have never used talley rings, so I don't know if they come reversible or not. If they are, it is time to shim, center, and start over.
