Scope bikini or Butler Creek flip caps

One more Flip-cap hater here!!!!

I wanted something that would protect my gun while I was hunting. Around my neck of the woods we have some really thick stuff and often times there is no way other than through it.

My Buttler Creek cap broke off on that very first hunt. Some may recall that I spent A LOT of time looking for a wounded deer in some thick stuff.... The hinge on the front cap is really weak. I liked the eyepiece cap (that one didnt break) but the AO design needs to be improved before ill pic up another set.

I love to call in the fog, mist, and snow. Forgot that I took my flip caps off of my calling gun. Ended up slipping a glove over my objective to keep it clear. Got lucky and the yote I called in gave me time to take the glove off. However, I still rushed the shot and missed. Anyway, I like the flip caps for wet weather, but I don't have to crawl through brush out here.

Oh ya, huntsman22, I will be usin' the "tube-top" idea for my truck gun. I love the roll-your-own creativity.

Scope shield looks interesting. It attaches to the front sling swivel. But what if you have a bipod that is on the front swivel, will the scope shield still fit ??

Tks

I like bikini covers, cheap, simple, quick and one size fits all. When on stand I only have it on the objective end. A quick flick and it's off.

Best part......no "pop" like fliping the BC open.

I have BC flip-ups on nearly every scope I own. That is a LOT of flip-ups.

Have been using them forever. The other scopes have the expensive Leupold flip-ups on them, which are really nice, but pricey.

I have lost some BC flip-ups through the years myself, and broken a few also. However, most of the time they work fine and I consider them cheap insurance for keeping my lenses from getting scratched up or getting water on them..........
