scope for rabbit hunting

Shop around and get a weaver Rv7 2.5-7x28. This scope has a serious following with rimfire guys. I had it on a 10/22 and then a bolt gun. Just a wonderful scope for the money. I think mine was about 135 delivered but you have to shop around. Just the right power range to deal with the small kill zone of a rabbit but still be able to track it on the move.

I'm partial to the old Weaver steel 1 inch tube scopes. I have 2.5 power Weavers on my .22's. I can't figure why I'd ever want anything else. The vintage Weaver's were top scopes in their day for high powered rifles and make a dandy .22 scope still. They can be bought for less than $80.

A little 1-5x or 2-7x or similar would be perfect. You don't want/need much magnification for that type of hunting.

A little .410 with some #6's would be even better.

Got a simmons or something 3-9x50 on my 10/17, works good for shooting the stuff I had. Wouldn't feel underscoped shooting it.
