seat height??

Hunting in S. Tx. brush country, this children's camp chair from Academy is just right. Enables you to rest elbows on knees for very stable "sitting" position off sticks. Seat height is 13" & 10" back gives enough support to my bad back to enable me to sit still, even on longer bobcat stands.

A few years ago, I just sat on the ground.

Then back in '03, I started using a stadium seat, so that even though I was still basically on the ground, I had a backrest.

I have a "turkey seat" with adjustable folding legs, but can't use it. It's only designed for about 200#, & I haven't seen those days in a few years. (maybe I can finally use it next year, if my new diet works)

This year, I've been using a 3 gallon "plastic" bucket. I gave it some Krylon camo.
It only sits me about 8" off the ground, but it's easier than getting up off the ground at the end of the stand.
And w/the lid-side up, it's a nice wide seat.
I removed the handle & instead installed an adjustable length carry strap from a duffel.(used over the shoulder like a sling)
It's awkward to carry to stand, but it's lightweight.

I used to carry a 5 gallon bucket to my deer stand (had the swivel seat top too). The problem I had with that was the noise. You bump that darn thing just slightly and you'd get a big low pitched sound that would carry quite a ways. I even sprayed that foam insulation inside and though it helped it didn't fix the problem.

The Alps chair showed up a couple of days ago. This is definitely going to work well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif I just have to paint it a bit, but he height is nice. Rated to 300#. I still can't believe it cost me $10.88 shipped from STP.

The only problem now??? The kids all want one!! "cool chair dad" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
