Seats

I find it imperative that my predator hunting chair have a back. My limit for sitting on a backless chair is about 10 minutes-not long enough.

I use low beach chairs. I find them at yard sales for a buck or two and just use some camo paint to cover the bright spots. Excellent back rest and the arms make for stable shooting.

Watch those three legged stools if you ever hunt any sandy terrain. I switched to four legs after one leg of my stool broke through into an unseen ground squirrel burrow and dumped me into some cactus!

I pack this along sometimes when I want to get out of the truck. I can sit for extended periods of time and recline for a nap. The floor board is sufficient to carry a caller and beverages.
It tips the scale about 460 empty.

I use a flat seat and also a 3 legged stool, both depend on area and how tall grasses are.
Reflective tap on the stool in case I cant see it at night after I go pick up a coyote.
I had to extend it to fit my height, to low otherwise.

I use the predator quest easy chair, its the best chair for the money. I used a foam pad for a while then a gobbler lounger. The gobbler lounger is a very comfortable chair but it is very hard to turn, you have to recline back far enough to get the front legs off the ground then spin. The easy chair will spin on the ground when you turn and it has a supported back. The only issue I've had is it has aluminum bars as the back support and after a while if you have it adjusted lopsided one of the bars will cut the stitching. I also carry a 3 legged stool in the truck as a back up, if you go this route make sure you test it with your bipod/sticks as 12 inches may not seem like much but when your on the side of a hill your sitting/kneeling sticks may be too short.

that thing is like a mono pod for a rifle. it is better than nothing. but not by much.

Here are pics of the seats that I mentioned in my previous reply..........

The fisherman's seat that I found at a yard sale, for $1........

This is the aluminum platform "ladder", that I bought at Harbor Freight, and then painted camo.....

This is my number 1 coyote hunting chair and position. Today I used it as a deer hunting setup, while waiting for a deer to cross this logging road... which I've shot many deer and hogs on it... but today... only Mosquitos.

I should be out there right now... but it's too hot and I'm lazy.

The bipod is on there incase a critter walks across the road while I'm walking down it, and have to go prone real quick.

I use the three legged stool with big feet. Academy use to sell them with big feet on the bottom which didn't sink in the ground as bad. Everything I find today has the narrow feet.

I have the PQ easy chair too, it does swivel nice while on the ground, but doesn't offer that much back support unless your sitting almost straight up. It will fold over if ya try to recline it. It is a Beard Buster chair that cost ya almost twice as much money than what the local Wallmart charges for the exact same chair.

I have a number of hunting chairs, including two original Double Bull blind chairs, one that has a blind you pull over you, a turkey hunting seat with a stadium seat strapped to it, and any number of cushions/turkey vests with cushions attached.
Here is one I just bought:
http://www.amazon.com/Shappell-STC360-ATC-Trail-Chair-Camo/dp/B00CJJBBL2

I bought it for four reasons:
It is light, like 3.5#
It has a back; a must for me for medical reasons.
The leg heights adjust individually. There is not much flat ground where I live.
It swivels. Very convenient when predator hunting.

I realize this is no heavy duty extended use item, but I only weigh 130#, and it will only receive occasional use. The wide footpads that won't sink in mud are a bonus. It is very important that any chair I buy be lightweight, preferably under 4# as I am disabled and cannot carry a lot of weight.

The only thing that would be better is a chair like this of slightly better quality (and weight) with a trigger stick-like lever that you squeeze once and all three legs adjust at the same time (even it you had to do it while not sitting on it). Primos-are you listening? Marketing opportunity hint hint.
