Semi auto 22 hornet?????

So what are the possibility of a manufacturer making a semi hornet.From what I can gather I guess it would be a challenge because its a rimmed cartridge.I think it would be a great little rifle to have one made on the 10/22 platform.If a community got together and showed enough interest in such a gun do you think they could be persuaded to make something?a lot of wishful thinking I know but this is a gun I would sell like crazy if they would make one.how many of you guys would like to own one?
 
It wouldnt be that hard. You could modify a AR with a little bit of time. Heck you could build a .22 hornet blowback with its relatively low chamber pressure.

No chance - it would not sell like crazy... and the case would be a nightmare to design a semi auto for.

No chance - it would not sell like crazy... and the case would be a nightmare to design a semi auto for.

Couldn't you just change the back of the case to a rimless cartridge and if so the semi would be easier to make,I believe the hornet has a big enough following that it would be a successful round.and with all the cool 10/22 accessorries it would be one of the coolest toys in the safe.lots of stocks to choose,barrels and drop in triggers,hi cap mags the possibilities are endless
