We have any members here affiliated with Sheridan Search and Rescue?? Was wondering if there are any further updates on the following story. Know all 5 of these guys personally. All hail from the big town of Mercer, ND... population about 75 people.
Chad Tweeten - is my former brother-in-law's nephew. Spent a lot of time out there on the family farm, have known Chad, his mom and dad, sister and brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews for years. Last I heard, Chad was working for UPS, helping out a little on the family farm, and had bought a little land south of Mercer from an uncle.
Jamey Murray has a spray in foam insulation franchise. His significant other grew up 3 houses down the street from me, used to have to listen to her Dad fuss about him dating her back in High School.
Darren Murray, Jamey's brother (article has the Jaren thing wrong from what I've been told), works for the Bureau of Reclamation, out of the McClusky, ND field office, as an equipment operator and truck driver. I know their folks, brothers, step-brother, step-sister as well. Darren actually married his step-sister after her first marriage failed.
Roddy Schilling runs the family farm now, after spending 10 - 12 years on seismic ships searching the oceans all over the world for oil. Back in his high school days he worked for my dad 2 - 3 summers in the bee business. Heard Roddy had just purchased the bar in Mercer, don't know if the deal closed yet or not.
These 4 are all in the 45 - 50 range.
Roddy's step-son... Dusty Schlicting is in his early 20s, helps Roddy on the farm. One of the nicest young men you ever wanted to meet. Tall slender, good looking kid, clean cut and country; always respectful, polite, hard working, likes to party and he's a lot of fun to hang out with when does. Good natured kid, with an upbeat positive attitude, likes to have fun.
If you guys got an extra prayer laying around, send it out to them, losing these 5 guys would devastate Mercer. They've lost more than their share in the last decade.

SHERIDAN — Sheridan County’s Search and Rescue team was called into the Bighorn Mountains at approximately 4:45 a.m. today after five snowmobilers were reported missing.
Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mark Conrad said the group was last seen at the High Country Lodge.
Conrad said the group was reported missing by Roberta Young, the owner of the Bear Lodge Resort. Young had said the five arrived at the lodge with their own snowmobiles, but two of them later rented sleds.
Conrad said the missing snowmobilers are considered to be very experienced.
“Also, the fact there are five is good,” he said. “There’s strength in numbers.”
The five were last seen at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday. The group has not made any cellphone contact. Conrad said searchers do not know the groups initial direction of travel.
Conrad said searchers will likely focus on areas of the mountain with no cellphone service.
The missing snowmobilers are from North Dakota and have been identified as Chad Tweeten, James Murray Sr., Jaren Murray, Rod Schiling and Dustin Schlichting.
UPDATE — 5:04 p.m.: Conrad said the Johnson County and Big Horn County Search and Rescue Teams have been called to help as of this afternoon. This is normal procedure because of the length of time the men have been gone and they’re also in an area where the boundries of the three counties triangulate, though the teams work together.
Conrad also said visibility on the mountain is low, and he’s hoping the men are hunkered down somewhere.
