1" alder plywood, 3/4" pipe legs. Light, strong & stable.
No more than three legs. Remember your HS geometry, three points define a plane. That's why stools with three legs don't wobble.

If you are looking for a decent rotating bench look at Rogers Sporting Goods web site they have a nice one for $99.

I use a DOA.
My 4runner shooting platform from a while back when I lived out in CA, used it for the Cedarville squirrel shoots we have every year.
My newer field/target stand is just like the one used by a pal & his grandson. I made 2 of them for the ground or for the bed of our trucks. Mostly I lay prone the ground as its easy/free and I can move all over the ranches I shoot using the terrain to my advantage.

In his plans he suggests 2 layers of 3/4" plywood, I tried the furniture grade 1" alder plywood and think it's better. It sure is lighter, but still strong.
Process is pretty simple. Cut your plywood and finish to the level you desire, drill and bolt the brackets and screw on the 3/4" pipe legs.
Mine took a little longer because I really worked on the finish, including 6 coats of semi-gloss poly-urethane.

I used 3 layers of 3/4"AC and then used "pour-on" finish over it. The finish gets real thick and sets up nice and shiny.
Mines also a 3 legged set up but with three layers of plywood, its only portable if youve got a strong back and weak mind.
The way I set my legs up gives me 6" of adjustment per leg for leveling on uneven ground
Ive got plans drawn up for a trailer bench that I can pull behind my 4 wheeler. Too many projects and not enough time.

Hey Outlaw,
Don't know what I think of 3 layers of 3/4" AC and my bad back. However, I sure like that 6" of adjustment. There are many times I wish I could lower (or raise) either the front or the back.

I thought about putting wheels on the front legs to help out a lil. LOL

I found the adjutment is very handy for side to side leveling too

2" ridgid conduit? LMAO!!! It doesnt wiggle if thats what you mean, its rock solid once its set up.
Im an electrician so conduit was easy to come by, I just went with it. Im calling it a prototype LOL
32-36" off the ground, I use my cooler as a chair.

For me, light is important. Even with the topper on my truck, I can slide my table into the bed w/o removing the legs.
I can stop at a new location and be set up in 2-3 minutes without serious injury.
I place a large beach towel under the table, so it slides out of the truck like it was coated with butter.

You must turn it upside down to slide it in? Thats how I do it too but I have a flat bed, it works fast and easy. Unless Im there camping for the weekend then, I have my horse trailer with tac room in the front, then I just put my shoulder under the bench and walk into my horse trailer and set it down, move and, walk it back out when Ive decided on a new place to shoot.
LOL You guys are acting like my set up is made out of concrete or something? Its not as bad as you suggest and its no more akward than any of the others. Handles would make it easier to manage though, I hadnt thought of that till I saw huntsman22's pictures, thats a good idea.

I didn't realize it was conduit legs. I figgered full wall pipe..... THAT woulda made it too much for me

And the handles in mine, get more use when used to stand the spare guns in.....
One other question I have, Is the garden hose in yer first pic used to flood out the critters so's you can then blast 'em?

Nope! It's for cooling barrels!
The other option doesn't always work. Unless I have case of Coors along, I can't keep up.
