K KCGoatie New member May 9, 2020 #21 The benefits of a 204 are only seen in a longer barrel. Mine is 17 or so inches and that short doesn’t do the caliber justice. If you’re going short I’d do a basic .223. My .243 is a 22” and I’m not so sure I would go shorter due to velocity loss.
