I second the notion on the stevens mod 200. my best buddy has one and he absolutely loves that ugly little thing. Rattle can camo job made it look nice. This gun loves 55 grain bullets, I believe it has a 1 in 12 twist rate. IMO no two rifles are exactly the same nor shoot exactly the same. The gun is a great value, spend the difference you didnt have to pay for the savage or remington and use it on a bipod and good optics. Just my two cents

the Weatherby looks like a dandy carry rifle with the smaller stock.

I guess if I was intent on a light weight 22-250, I would shop the used gun racks and gun shows for a Winchester light weight model 70. They made them back in the 80's and they were a nice rifle.

I have a stevens model 200 in 22-250 and it shoots great. You cannot beat them for the price. It is very lightweight and very affordable.
