I like the caliber, have killed 2 bull elk at 400 and 500 yds and several cows around 300 with 140 & 150 gr pills. I am excited to see the new nosler accubond 150 gr long range bullet. Hope a 1:10 will stabilize it. .625 BC would be pretty sweet.
Recently shot a small hog with my .300WSM, a 165 gr AccuBond at 3140 fps. Hit the forehead, blew out a large chunk of the skull and right shoulder. Thought the slug flew off somewhere. When skinned, found a slug under the belly skin. Hard to figure how it got there, no nearby hunters using a .30 cal boattail.
Sent it to Nosler, they said it was an AccuBond and that it showed evidence of tumbling. Still, a wild ride to go that far off course. Don
