This is the same company that donated 3000 rounds of the new .223 Superformance ammunition for all of our members that attended our annual hunt & convention to shoot.

Pretty darn good company & sponsor in my book.

+1

It is hard to have have any respect for anyone that bashes in this way...shame on you!

Hey Blopez, maybe your 2 missing bullets went towards the 3,000 rounds that got donated at the annual PM Hunt! Atleast it was for a good cause!

I don't blame you for questioning us, to see if anybody else has had this problem in the past! I bet they would question your payment if it was a $1.00 short of what it is supposed to be, the next time you make a purchase of their bullets! You have all the right to ask! It's all part of their business and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to provide you with the 2 that were missing! Blopez, how's your load testing coming along for using those 110 V-Max's in your 30-06? What powder did you go with and how many grains? I just got setup for loading my 30-06 and purchased the 110 V-Max's, I just haven't decided what powder I'm going to try them with! I'm thinking either AA2460 or maybe IMR3031 is what I'll end up using. I hope I can get them to shoot good because I think they will split a coyote in two! Sounds like alot of fun, doesn't it?

^ Ricky Bobby- I posted in the other thread on the 110 vmax. I got a couple good groups but the last time I shot they went to [beeep]! I hope we can get a day without these 40mph winds so I can try some more.

Ackleyman- did you read my next post? Bash? Come on guys...

^ Did you find the 125s to be more accurate than the 110s?

The dang 110s were shooting about a 4" pattern last time I was out... Pretty discouraging after some sub MOA groups in the beginning!

They didnt donate that out of the goodness of their heart, they donated that for exposure for the rounds and for people to brag on it,buy it, from what i have heard it is good, but none the less it was advertizing. ed

I don't think blopez was bashing at all, he posted a legitimate issue and got good feedback as to how to take care of it. He didn't call them names or curse their existance, he just said it happened. I bet no one would question his post if they weren't a sponsor. Personally I would be mad I didn't get what I paid for too, if a company is long on the count its the cost of doing business, if they short you for what you paid for its an intirelly different issue.

That being said, Hornady is an awesome company and im sure they will make it right.and even [beeep] its advertising, its still awesome that they donate so much.

JMO, YMMV

I've been loading the Hornady V-Max and Sierra bullets for the last six years and have had occasions where they both were one short, as well as one over, and never considered it a big deal, either way...

Having toured a couple of bullet producing plants over the years and the degree of automation involved, sometimes it's just a matter of adjustment to the machinery and the companies don't want problems in that regard anymore than we do as customers....

A simple phone call will sometimes result in a new box or a handful of replacements, whether they are sponsors or not...

I tend to agree with OT. While it's a bummer to get shorted, it's all automated I'm sure and probably something Hornady would want to know about, esp if you told them 2 boxes in a row were short. If I were there I'd want to know the lot number and as much info as I could get, and hopefully make sure it wasn't an ongoing problem.

Just a week ago my bil called me with problem he was having with a Savage 7mm-08 he just bought for his gf. They bought 1 box of hornady ammo for it, and the first shell they tried would not chamber. Then no others would chamber either. It turns out that the first shell was actually a 308! And in trying to chamber it he shoved the bullet back in the case to where powder spilled out, and no other shells would chamber until he cleaned the powder out of the chamber.

He called Hornady and they gave him a new box of ammo for the 7mm-08. Mistakes happen, this could have just been people opening boxes of ammo at the store and mixing them up, but Hornady took care of it, as I'm sure they will with blopez's shortage.

They screwed you out of 28cents. Don't let 'em get away with that. Go to court, sue their butt.

Good one, it's all in the delivery.

Someone made an excellent point - when I'm shorted, I don't really care because I'm usually finding extra bullets in packs of 100 or 250 or recently 500. I haven't called them yet to let the manufacturers know they gave me an extra or two. It evens out in the end.

You're buying 100 bullets, not 99 or 98. If the supplier send an extra or two, excellent on there behalf, if not, I'd expect to get what I paid for. With prices raising on everything, I want what I paid for.

Some ppl don't seem to care, but imagine if the company did that to every package of bullets for a whole year. The difference would be huge!

Heck, I know in our shop if one of our container doesn't have the proper amount of parts and IF it gets to HONDA, It's a BIG NO NO.

Would you be mad if you bought a dozen eggs and found out there were only 11 in the container?

I've never been shorted, or had a bullet over.

I have had bullets over by one brass short by one and brass over by two all in the past few weeks...

I don't get exited about it, but some folks do.

Good customer service would dictate a policy that ensured that there was always a couple extra. The good will generated would far outweigh the minimal cost, and would completely eliminate any possible customer dissatisfaction over the count.

I'm kind of surprised the major bullet manufacturers haven't realized that, especially savvy businesses like Hornady.

I shoot a boat load of Hornady bullets and they are usually 1-2 over. Never had any box short.
They are boxed by weight and all manufacturers tend to give more rather than on the edge.
They do not want any box to be short.
If you had 2 boxes short they would like to hear about it.

I wonder if jack got your bullets?????

Maybe evertime someone is a couple over...someone else is a couple under.......EEEERIE huh.

Back in the '70's my Dad sent a bullet back to Hornady that he had recovered from an elk he had shot. He received a full box of hats and a hand written letter from Joyce himself. My Dad still has the letter, its one of his "trophies ".

I've never worried 1 under or a few over,it all comes out in the wash.

I brought this thread up to my Dad and he told me that Sierra always put 101 in a box in the old days so a guy could make a dummy to set the seating die up.

I bought 2 boxes of krogers popcicles,,for 4 bucks...i get home,,rummage through one box for the fudge and bananna ones,,none,,second box,,also none....ummm they are my favorite.

stated right on the box they were suppose to be there.

I called the store i got em from,,they called corporate,,,pulled the whole lot,,,called me and gave me coupons for a months worth and a addditional 50 in groceries.

They were very thankful,,they were still coming off the line that way.
