That's why I mentioned the part above of headshots; "too many things can go wrong" with the low velocity rounds. Really good shot placement and good angles - it ends well. However, take a highly animated part of the body such as the head and couple that with field shooting positions, low velocity, bad angles, round nose strongly jacketed bullets, and things have a good chance of ending poorly. Bullets glancing off skulls is a well known thing, it's happened to big game hunters of many species and it has happened in shootings with people too.
