Shot size for a .410 on rabbits?

Hey. For Muller chokes I would like to use 12-gauges to weigh around 6 ½ pounds, and sub-gauges, like the 20 or even 28, a pound less. This is the best to shoot a bird.

YEP! In classic internet forum fashion. LOL. I prefer 3" #4s but 5s or 6s work well also. Haven't seen #5 in factory loads forever but I used to hand load them a lot in 20 ga.

As far as I'm concerned, after doing the majority of my field shotgunning with .410's for over 25yrs, the #6 3" is the place to be, whether bunnies or birds are at the other end.

I can say I don't give a [beeep] if the .410 has a small pattern, I never seem to have trouble hitting with them. My 2.5yr old son has been breaking clays at 20yrds on the ground with his great great grandpa's single shot Iver Johnson "Eric's gun and cycle works" .410 just fine.

Still using 8's in my BFR revolver and it's still working....don't want to pick lead out...no problem lead the rabbit and go for head shots
