Shot size for crows

i remember one time i called in some crows and shot one with a 3in. #2 duck load and nocked a bunch of feathers out and it just flutterd a bit and kep on goin, then i shot one with #8 dove shot and it feel strait down, but i believe i have had the best luck with #6 shot

i usualy hook a speaqker to my computer and jam it in the window real good and start blasting some crow tunes then just wait for them to land and start sniping with the .22. i made a 243 yard shot one day with the 22 but ive probably missed 80 more at that distance

wonder what the hold over was on that shot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

I used remington premium trap loads 7 1/2's. I think it says on the box they are 1350 fps, and are only between $4 and $5 per box. You would be surprised how far they will reach out for a low base shell.

This is the top choice from one of the most prolific crow killers in the country. I know his numbers are well over 100,000 shot in his lifetime.

I would use the biggest that you can, and still pattern enough to use. I use 5 and have also used anything I had on hand. Have gone to many crow tourneys and have shot them and had them fall from the sky and hit the ground dead. (I thought) to later have them fly away, when every crow counts, you want them dead. So I think they're pretty tough. I like 4's and 6's but 5 fills the bill nice. Have also used #2 steel. Had some luck w/BBB lead also. Won a tourney with 101 crows in a day. We shot a lot of rounds!! Number 5 shot mostly.
