Not sure why, but I have never been happy with Winchesters
decision to go to the AA HS hull. The hull seems decent, but the idea of a two piece hull just sticks in my craw. I have always had good luck with STS hulls, so I purchase and re-load them most often. In my Beretta 20 ga. auto where I worry about base wad obstruction, I just don't shoot AA HS hulls re-loaded. For the O/Us I check after the shots, so I don't worry there, and use the AA HS re-loads in those guns.

Squeeze, it sounds to me like you haven't given them a chance? If you prefer the STS hulls, that's great. I have a friend who absolutely refuses to change over from STS to AAHS in his 28s because "he'll have to readjust the machine".
And that's his choice. He gets by fine with his 5-6 reloads per hull.
This has been an ongoing thing for years & years ... some prefer this hull, some that hull. I can remember back "in the day" when the AA was all most people would even consider reloading. But there were the few that swore by the Remington hulls. Heck, there was a time when I loaded ACTIV hulls exclusively for my waterfowl loads. And they were way better than anything else out there...for waterfowl loads. Every hull has a use and excels in some areas. The STS is obviously a larger capacity hull and is an excellent choice for large payloads and bulky powders, or combinations of the two. But the numbers don't lie, and 99% of the volume reloaders out there (ie: clays shooters) prefer the AAHS in 28 & 410. And the 20ga is split about 50/50.
In the end ... we all use what works best FOR US, and that's the way it should be. If the STS fit your style, load without problems, and give you the number of loads that you're satisfied with, then you're ahead of the game.
