Shotgun Shooting Sling?

Since I don't know if any such thing exists or it's practicality, I'd thought I'd take a stab with you folks.

I have the typical 2-point, 1" adjustable, quick-detach web sling for my Benelli. As I've done more calling stands in these flat lands, I'm finding many of the areas that I access require a standing position to see over/through grass and other vegetation as opposed to just backing up and sitting down against a solid backdrop.

I would prefer to use some type of a variable sling that will hold the shotgun in a ready position while I hand call to allow for quick off-hand shooting if something comes in.

I'm trying to avoid the awkward transition from mouth call to shotgun and back again along with all of the extra movement involved.

Any suggestions, pro or con, are welcomed.

You need a single point sling. Quick detach makes it easy to take the gun off to get back in the car to drive to the next stand. This Blackhawk Storm single point is $15 at Optics Planet.

And a single point sling attachment. Installs in a minute or two. Cost is between $15-25 depending on brand. Tons of options. Slim profile.

Or use the Blackhawk sling adapter for $5, but I think it would interfere with your grip... Looks like an option only if nothing else works.

A single point sling is best for short hikes, it kinda requires a hand to stabilize the rifle as you walk. If you want to hike hands free in comfort get a 3-point sling but there's a lot more straps involved.

Thanks for the help, DD. Those are some good options and give me food for thought.

As I'm running a 26" barrel, I'll need to do some preliminary checking to see if I'm going to dip my barrel in the dirt while standing using a single point. I think I'm tall enough to make it work.

If it looks practical, I'd probably just pack the single point and make a quick change at the stand location as necessary. Some stands I sit, some I stand and I'm happy with my two point right now for my long walks.

Devon,
You could also look into two-point, V-Tac type setup.

Look for the "Blue Force Victory Series M16-A2 Stock Adapter." Lots of places carry it. It's made for portside mounting V-Tac style slings on A2 stocks. The back end will work with your shotgun, as well.
It's a webbing doodad that moves your mounting point to a spot above and centered over you buttstock.
After that, you'd need one of the magazine clamp type of affairs to get a sling loop on the left side out front.

GG&G also makes several turnkey setup that'll allow you to run a useful sling on your shotgun.

With that setup, you can run the gun just like an AR; cross-body, muzzle down or horizontal, or across the back.

Thanks, Bernie. I'm running that kind of sling right now.

Thank you, too, Corey. That looks promising. I definitely want to have the ability to have the shotgun up close for easy access and not have a long travel from rest to shoulder should I have to drop my mouth call and make a quick shot if standing.

Sitting in my stand situations are preferred, but I'm finding some good sign in cattle country where standing on stand is just more logical.

Thanks for all the hints, guys.
