shotgun sights (urgent)

ok men i need help and fast. this past weekend my buddy borrowed my new mossy shotgun to hopefully break his 2 year curse, which he did and i am very tickled he used my gun to do it.. but in doing so the rear fiber optic sight has mysteriously vanished from my gun. now i know my buddy and he hunts just like i do, which is very hard until said job is done. i trust him with my stuff and this sight fallin off would have happened to me either way so i need some help findin a new one that will stay put.

as ive never dealt with such an issue, if anyone has a suggestion im all ears. i need somethin that is tough because i hunt hard. this gun will stay in my truck bouncin around and what not so i need somethin that will stay put. i looked into some steel ghost ring rear sights but they are all $90+ and require gunsmith instalation so that is out. i would like it to be a glowing fiber optic sight for early morning/ late evening turkeys and i hunt predators alot at night so light up sights are needed. i thought about just puttin a red dot on it but i cant afford an aimpoint or an EOtech. i dont really trust anything else to stand up to 3.5 inch mag loads and battery life is always an issue with the cheap ones.. so anyways if anyone knows of a tough steel contructed glowing shotgun sight please let me know! all my searching thus far has yielded nothing to my liking.

Im going out of town to a big WMA this weekend to hunt gobblers all weekend and i would like to have some sights on my gun. all help is appreciated!

Matt

Go to Wal-Mart and get a Hi-Viz "Flame"for $10. It comes with everything you need. I use them on all of my shotguns.

Don't get the ones that clamp on the rib as they are too bulky.

the front sight is still on the gun i just need the rear sight.. i think the mossbergs come with high viz sights and it fell off. im havin a tough time findin anything i might just have to wait till i can save up enough for an aimpoint or sometihn like that

I called Mossberg and told them what happened, they sent me a new sight that got super glued back in place of the old one. It's been that way about 4 years now. I figured I could chisel it off if I ever got tired of it, but my Pro-Point covers it up anyway.

I just put a Truglo from Sportsman's Warehouse on a new turkey gun, I like it much better than the sight on my Mossy, the optional aperture rear sight that comes with it is great for old eyes, the sight set will fit any vent rib.

I have a Bushnell 2x28 shotgun scope mounted on my 835 never had a issue just use it for hunting turkey so only gets used once a year. I also have a 535 that has a Tasco pro-point on it thing works like a champ. I also have the factory sights off of my 835 would mail the rear to you. PM me if you want.

I personally have never liked rear sights on shotguns and have never missed a Turkey for lack of one. I would just hunt without it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

thanks rut roe but i wasnt a big fan of the factory sight anyways.. but again thanks for the kind offer. i know i can get it done without a rear sight but i have terrible vision and its just better for me to have somethin to focus on besides a lone bead.

I've got an Aimpoint on mine and my hunting buddy used a Pro-point and both have stood up to 3.5 inch shells for several years now.
