On age and "grey areas" - For me, it goes something like this...the older I get, the less grey there is, and more things seem to be either black or white. However (also), as my age increases, so does my exercise of mercy.

Man, sometimes I really enjoy what I read here. Az has put to words what I think many of us feel or think. As I progress through the years I become more like my father and grandfather every day. Some of that is pleasing to me and some still comes as a surprise. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Given everything I read at the beginning of this thread I think Bush has done the best thing. Did these two guys do something wrong? Yes. Did it warrant the zealous prosecution and punishment? No.

Our congressman Ted Poe (former Harris county prosecuter and judge) was instrumental in getting the agents case in front of the prez. He stated yesterday that Johnny Satan and his henchman are now going to be investigated for the way this was handled. I almost drove off the road when I heard that on the radio. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Mr Poe stated "this isn't over by a long shot". It's a crime to lie to congress and it appears that's what happened at some point.c /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I will agree that mistakes were made by the BP agents and they should have been fired, but now they are convicted felons. Johnny Satan charged these guys like he would charge you and me with assault with a deadly weapon. By law LEO's have to carry a gun so the way JS went about this is illegal.
I heard the interview with JS on the radio and he is a smug POS Holier than Thou lawyer who reminds me of the DA in the Duke LaCrosse case.
I'll try to keep the group posted on Ted Poe's efforts to bring the real criminals to justice.
BTW, Judge Ted Poe was called "Toothbrush Ted" because when you were a criminal in his court, you'd better bring your toothbrush because you were going to stay awhile! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
