Should I buy buy a new DPMS 308 ?

Yeah, the stock trigger is ok and will work. However, once you try out an aftermarket trigger, you'll realize just how crappy your factory trigger is. You'll all of a sudden feel all the creep and grittiness and the inconsistent break. I now run Geissele SSA-E's in all of my AR's including my DPMS AP4 .308 (I do run a 3lb Timney in a 5.56, but the Geissele still wins!).
 
I own a DPMS-LR308 with the heavy 24" stainless barrel and its a great gun. I took a standard RRA AR 2 stage trigger from my national match and installed it into my 308 and I love it. And YES I said a standard AR trigger group into a LR-308. Their 2 stage is very nice. Gun shoots great at 500 yards.
